While the slap is stylish enough to wear outside, I bought the slap specifically because I wanted something that would protect/organize my hair while I slept. My hair is generally straight but a little wavy at the end and goes down to about my neck. Sometimes Id have trouble sleeping cause my hair would tickle me and id wake up. So I wanted something that wouldn’t damage my hair (satin and silk are best for this), organize my hair so it wasn’t all over the place, while feeling comfortable enough to sleep in, and this is exactly that. Love it!

The satin material is made up of polyester which is drying and damaging to natural hair. It's a beautiful concept and design. I love that its woman and minority owned however I would not have made several purchases for my daughters and I if I knew it was not actually satin. The website should list the actual fabric used.

Hi Sakinah! We'd love to clear the confusion here. Satin is not a fabric type. Satin refers to the way the fabric is finished/made not necessarily the actual fabric. It’s weaved differently and more intricately than other fabrics. There are silk, polyester and nylon satins. The slap is made with a high-quality stretch Charmeuse Satin made from polyester.
